Darker Than Black: Gemini of the Meteor – 03
Sorry for all the confusion guys, but this is what happens when you stay up till 5-6 AM to bring out a release.
Errors in this episode include:
19:15 – Your probably made a mistake.
Should be “You”
20:21, 20:25 & 21:07 mentions “Section 35″
Should be “Section 3″
And of course, the font isn’t styled properly.
For people who know how to mux files properly, we have upped a fixed copy of the script in the repository. If you don’t know how to mux, read on for instructions on how to use the patch.
1. Download “[BSS]_Darker_Than_Black_-_Gemini_of_the_Meteor_-_03_[AAB4C0AC].mkv” if you haven’t already. Make sure that the CRC32 hash checks out and that the file is UNMODIFIED IN ANY WAY (DIFFERENT NAME, NOT MUXED WITH ANYTHING NEW etc…).
2. Download this patch: DtB2_03_PATCH.zip
3. Extract the contents of the patch to the same directory as your copy of “[BSS]_Darker_Than_Black_-_Gemini_of_the_Meteor_-_03_[AAB4C0AC].mkv“.
4. Run “PATCH.BAT“. Once the patch finishes running, a new copy of episode 3 will appear, named “[BSS]_Darker_Than_Black_-_Gemini_of_the_Meteor_-_03v2_[887B6158].mkv“.
5. Open the new video and double check to see if the font is correct and if the mistakes are gone. If it’s all right, you may then delete the original video and all the patch related files.

what i did was just take the script file and changed the fonts there, and just have that in the same directory as the video file, if anyone’s interested in fixing it for themselves quickly

2) replace: ,Default, with ,dtb,
3) rename to same filename as MKV and put in same directory

About the Suo`s surname… During the second episode (at 13:48) you can see her name typed in Russian – Суо Павлюченко, which is transliterated into English as Suo Pavlyuchenko instead of Pavlichenko. Though I admit that for some reason actors say Pavlichenko :)

Was able to fix the problem easy, you see the font for the normal (non op ed and ts text) was all set to DEFAULT, the actual font for it is dtb, their are 2 ways to fix it thr long way is to change all the DEFAULT to dtb oe you can change dbt to DEFAULT which is easier.
The line in question when you open the file in text editor is :-
Style: dtb,Constantia,55,&H00FFFFFF,&H000000FF,&H00000000,&H00000000,0,0,0,0,100,100,0,0,1,2.5,0,2,10,10,20,1
Just change dtb to Default to get this:
Style: Default,Constantia,55,&H00FFFFFF,&H000000FF,&H00000000,&H00000000,0,0,0,0,100,100,0,0,1,2.5,0,2,10,10,20,1
then mux it in with mkvmerge.

hi, it seems that after 3 eps you still haven’t figured out that “peecha” is in fact petya (ПетÑ/péťa), a slavic form of the name peter in a familiar form (sg like peter-chan), it can be applied to both male and female form of the name btw. otherwise good work.

Hey, the new fonts work with normal size but somehow i can’t
disable the original subtitles so i have overlapping subtitles. Anyone know how to fix this?

If you are not plain-lazy: Either substract, correct and merge the sub, or make your own .ass and let your player use that.
Building the .ass took me 10 seconds and I’m pretty sure someone already provided a similar one, or a script to correct the issue.

the easiest fix available is to download the subs that aers provided is to rename them to the mkv file name (uninclude the .mkv part and leave .ass), open ‘em up with aegisub and then open style manager. here find dtb, double-click it and change its name to “Default” (unincluding the quotes). save the file and you’re ready to watch a perfectly working episode :). Btw, if I wasn’t lazy I would just upload the completely fixed subs, but I am lazy.. :D

Hey I noticed this hasn’t been asked before but are you guys going to sub the 4 OVAs that explain what happens between season 1 and 2 when they’re released? Apparantly they’re getting released on the even numbered DVDs (so 2,4,6,8). They’re probably just an anime version of the manga that was linked earlier.

I love how you decided to make batch files for easy fixing for the novice. While i would love to learn how to mux myself it is so far seeming a bit harder (or me seeing it that way) than i thought it would be so im very greatful for this :)

for our brothers who’s using linux (sorry for being C.O. but whatever)
you can follow instructions in post, but instead of running bat-file type this in console:
xdelta -d -s “[BSS]_Darker_Than_Black_-_Gemini_of_the_Meteor_-_03_[AAB4C0AC].mkv” dtb2_03_patch “[BSS]_Darker_Than_Black_-_Gemini_of_the_Meteor_-_03v2_[887B6158].mkv”
or you can use our (aumi) patch, replacing subs.ass with latest version and running ./patch.sh
(well, of course crc will be wrong)

Patch isn’t working right here… It seems to patch fine and fixed the font/typos but around 20:25 the video freezes. Tried patching several times now and same problem.

The CRC was the same. I redownloaded everything (patch and video, used different bot in channel this time) and repatched. Works great now. Had the same problem as Jam before.

Tried the patch, player also freezes at around 14:14-strangely the original with tiny subtitles can continue after this point.

Thanks for subbing this guys. Even with a few typos, you’re still doing a wonderful job. Lovin it.
Also, I did have some of the same freezing problems some others had, but I found my problem was because I didn’t let the patch finish. I closed the bat window thinking it was done, so it created an unfinished file.
That might be what someone else’s problems were. Or I was the only impatient idiot, haha.

first of all, thank you guys for subbing this – it’s become an fast-addiction lol. yup, hei’s powers went to suou, or it looks like that to me. and did his remuneration just change from overeating to overdrinking?!
anyway – i’ve re-downloaded 3v2 and there are a few freeze-delays (no more than a second) when playing it on MPC. the freeze moments are all in the intro to the ep as far as i can tell. no idea why that happens.
i tried patching and it gave me the same freeze moments. the CRC is ok, so it might be something linked to the patch itself.
anyway i’m keeping both versions since the first one didn’t freeze anywhere and my eyesight’s good lol.
keep up the good work, i’m already impatiently waiting for next week’s ep :D

Sadly, this leaves the UNIX crowd out to download the full release again. The provided xdelta.exe is not a UNIX application. The xdelta(1) command in UNIX does not recognize the patch provided either.
Then again, using mkvtoolnix worked for me…
