DTB – Gemini of the Meteor – 02

At the suggestion of one of the commenters, we have made a patch for those less knowledgeable with mkvtoolnix. The patch can be found here: Download.

Simply extract all the contents of the zip to the same folder as your copy of episode 2 and run PATCH.BAT to apply it. Read the README for more information.

They need to bring back the old Hei.
Also, there’s a mistake in the episode 2 script.
Dialogue: 0,0:04:02.22,0:04:04.38,Default,,0000,0000,0000,,Go to the back of the house. I’m not your enemy.

It’s supposed to be:
Dialogue: 0,0:04:02.22,0:04:04.38,Default,,0000,0000,0000,,Go to the back of the house, no enemies are there.

In case you’ve ever wondered how to replace the script in your copy of any mkv, there’s a handy and simple to use program called mkvtoolnix. It can be found here, http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/

    Malcite says:

    As a suggestion, rather than showing what part of the script needs to be changed, why not make small batch files which people can download and apply to the videofiles in question. Its simpler than mkvtoolnix (which is pretty much impossible to use for most beginners, and the tutorial isn’t exactly easy either).

    Not complaining or anything, its only a small detail, but i have seen it done before and if you wished to correct it, it would be a simple matter :)

    Thanks for the release! Great speed and quality as usual.

    BTW, I`ve been wondering if the pet squirrel`s name is actually Petya (which is a Russian name) instead of Pecha that makes no sense in Russian…

    As it’s said in the 2nd episode, Shion speaks/is Japanese. Therefore it wouldn’t be weird if her pet’s name is some japanized Russian. Either make sens as both can be explained.

    I’m very glad to see this being subbed. Thank you so much. However…I’m having a little trouble. ^^; It appears the dialogue and the video are out of sync in my DivX player. They’re speaking before their mouths move. Does anyone know how I can fix it? I tried to figure it out myself but I’m not always savvy when it comes to these sorts of things.

  24. October 17th, 2009 at 12:06 pm

    hachi says:

    @yehl

    try installing CCCP
    if it’s still lagging, try installing coreavc and then disabling h264 in the CCCP settings

    pery says:

    lol why is the name of the Anime is written at the end of the episode in Russian twice in fact first before the ending song and after, ROFL.

  26. October 17th, 2009 at 9:28 pm

    yehl says:

    @hachi

    Thank you for your reply. :) CCCP didn’t work unfortunately, and I don’t think Coreavc is working, either, but the weirdest thing is the video and audio seem to go into sync if I click on a later segment of the episode. But then if I stop it and then start from the beginning, it isn’t. Don’t know how that is, but I guess I can just start the video at a later segment and then just rewind to the beginning and it’ll be okay. Just really weird. :)

  27. October 17th, 2009 at 9:37 pm

    yehl says:

    Nevermind. It’s not working. It does randomly, though.

  28. October 17th, 2009 at 10:53 pm

    hachi says:

    @yehl

    make sure you uncheck h264 in the CCCP settings
    you can also turn off aggressive deinterlacing and to always skip deblocking in coreavc settings

    Make sure you also use the player that comes with CCCP

    if those don’t work, maybe your computer is really old?

    jonathan says:

    hmmm. i cannot get the batch file to work even running as admin cuz vista uac (did not work even after i went to edit by cut and pasted my file name to be certain). windows keeeps giving me a weird security warning (a la internet explorer, which i am not using). i havew used these a lot in the past so idon’t know what the deal is.

    i have demuxed (and i am very familiar with mkv merge gui, et al), but, unlike srt which i edit and create often, this will not open in notepad for me. any help would be great. do i really need to get aegis advanced sub station alpha to edit this?

  30. October 18th, 2009 at 4:06 am

    jonathan says:

    i agree that if you cannot get this to play even with core avc, you might have to save up for a new computer.
    to be sure, go int media player classic,and go to right click and goto filters to see if coreavc is used to play the video. if not, go to options/ external filters, then on the top right there is a button that you click to search thru installed codecs, find coreavc, click it and accept it. then when it shows in window, highlight and hit the prefer button. close and reopen mpc.
    if you don’t have coreavc, i suggest getting mpc-home cinema versions, and use the internal filters which enable dxva, the next best choice.

    jonathan says:

    nvmd. if anyone else needs to edit the subs with an easy to use program, grab this
    http://dsrt.boom.ru/down-eng.htm

    you can even drop the whole file in without demuxing, and it outputs a new sub file for you to mux with. a real keeper.

    orangpelupa says:

    or try to use VLC player?
    it have its own X264 decoder and can skip frames to keep A/V in sync.
