@cd: only if you are interested in character development then yes you NEED to see the earlier seasons, otherwise, you’ll just find it a boring anime about music. Belive me, Nodame Cantabile is one of the best anime out there. All the seasons, not just one; specially if you like classical music or like to hear/play an instrument. This anime got me into classical music actually, now I have a huge collection of Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, and Haydn.
