Durarara 16
Well I’m sorry to say that aside from a translator backing out at the last minute, we lost our editor too so it can’t be helped, I’ll have to drop this. Sorry to disappoint you guys waiting. I suggest you visit Crunchyroll to watch the rest of this show. You can also find this episode, and the rest from here on out, from the good people at HorribleSubs.

Fuck you mreweilk
May 3rd, 2010 at 10:15 pm
Noooooo!!!!!!
May 3rd, 2010 at 10:17 pm
i’m getting my DRRR from anime council now
May 3rd, 2010 at 10:19 pm
Nooooooo!!! Where have the subbers gone?!
May 3rd, 2010 at 10:22 pm
ffffffffff
Really I have no problem with HorribleSubs, I watch their releases for a few other shows, but for DRRR I really prefered you guys. D:
May 3rd, 2010 at 10:24 pm
Such is the fate of fansubbers. Finding translators for good shows have proven to be such a pain, lately. Perhaps it will self-collapse once the scene is starved of translators.
May 3rd, 2010 at 10:28 pm
Download Durarara!! Episode 16 – Anime Take says:[...] Nvm, looks like they dropped it… time to go bawwww inacorner now T^T … [...]
May 3rd, 2010 at 10:30 pm
Sad, but I guess it can’t be helped.
I really looked forward to your subs as the quality was bar none. Yes, Crunchy and Horrible do a passable job, but just that: passable. Comparing yours to theirs made it evident that a greater level of finesse and effort was made by your site that made waiting, for any length of time, more than worth it.
If there’s any chance you think you’ll come back to this I’d like to know as I’ll gladly just put this series on a mental shelf and come back to it once you’ve assembled a more solid crew. If not, I salute you and I’ll resign myself to mediocrity.
*sniffles*
May 3rd, 2010 at 10:37 pm
No!!! This sucks! Damn I so wish I knew Japanese…
May 3rd, 2010 at 10:50 pm
Well, that’s unfortunate (I hope BSS wasn’t relying on that fellow who offered to TL, “only if the series can keep my interest enough”).
I, too, will probably be going with Anime Council from now on. I compared their past couple of releases to BSS’s and the scripts seem pretty close in terms of accuracy and localization. My only complaints from what I saw were the hardsubbing of on-screen text and the dropping of honorifics.
If BSS can ever get a good team together, I’ll be back for Durarara!! in an instant. In the meantime, here’s hoping for an R1 DVD/BD release (don’t forget to buy, folks)!
May 3rd, 2010 at 10:53 pm
Oh, yeah. Thanks for all your hard work on the series! It was a great, timely release!
May 3rd, 2010 at 10:56 pm
If you need an editor, I can help out.
I have an English degree now, and some free time for the next 3 or 4 months.
Send me an e-mail if you need me.
May 3rd, 2010 at 11:07 pm
Well the problem here isn’t the lack of staff. It’s the lack of people who are experienced with the fansub process. Getting someone mid show is usually a recipe for slow releases and errors and I really don’t think it’s fair on you guys to release more then a week after a show airs.
May 3rd, 2010 at 11:15 pm
Given the quality of the releases, I don’t think many people would mind if they were slow. I wouldn’t.
May 3rd, 2010 at 11:23 pm
I wouldn’t mind either (granted, I would probably watch a HorribleSub rip or something in the meantime). Alternately, what about taking your time and releasing the show as the R2 videos are released? Given how much the producers might be asking, it could be a while before we see official English DVDs.
May 3rd, 2010 at 11:43 pm
So whats the plan for now? What new shows is BSS going to tackle?
May 3rd, 2010 at 11:46 pm
Oh well. I really enjoyed your subs, but I can always wait for Frostii and watch HS in the meantime.
Good luck on whatever.
May 4th, 2010 at 12:06 am
Shit.
I would have waited for you until my Birthday, if I’d have to.
There’s not one group that could keep up with you on this.
The whole fansub-scene is suffering from unexperienced crews and dropping interest of the translators, it seems…
I would be happy if you’d take your time, take a break, find someone new, show him the tricks and come back with the BDs of DRRR!!, correcting the errors of the first episodes and continuing with the new episodes when they are out..
DRRR!! is an anime which is meant to be watched countless times, so I guess most people would be back on it when your releases are out..
May 4th, 2010 at 12:18 am
Sad thing to see you guys drop this one. You were the best on it, bar none. If the problem is time, I am one of the many, I believe, that would wait just for the quality of the releases. I’ve waited longer on “speedy” Eclipse, but the quality is what really counts.
May 4th, 2010 at 12:51 am
Seconding the sentiment of previous posters…
Quality>Speed any day…
If I’m willing to wait more than three weeks for SFW to release the last episode of Vampire Bund, then you can be damn sure I’ll wait for BSS to finish DRRR!
Honestly, you guys should just put it on hold until you find the staff instead of dropping it outright.
May 4th, 2010 at 1:21 am
Godspeed, gentlemen, godspeed. ;_;
May 4th, 2010 at 1:30 am
Fuck you guys.. seriously deserves the F word :D
Stop whining about dropping DRRR! Just do your work , even if it takes months.
I’d rather complete subbing it then drop ._. As long as your quality is superior to CS or HS we’re happy.
Saying sorry isn’t enough for our forgiveness , sub it and we’ll forgive ‘ya ! :)
May 4th, 2010 at 1:37 am
I too agree with my brethrens before me, and shall wait patiently for any releases should you ever pick this up again. You have done a terrific job and for this i am much thankful.
Let it be known that if you are intending to pick this up again when the waters are clear, that you have a steady bunch of followers who appreciate your efforts. To those considering to give it a try and pick up where BSS has left off, you shall have all the encouragement you need. What we cannot do in the fansubbing process we shall make up for in our patience and support.
May 4th, 2010 at 1:41 am
@RAAAA: it is precisely this kind of unsupportive, obnoxious attitude that makes so undeserving. they don’t owe you anything, and you have no right to demand they do it. don’t take what they do out of their own goodwill for granted, ingrate.
May 4th, 2010 at 1:43 am
Shit, that really blows. I was still patiently waiting for this latest release too. I even avoided /a/ entirely so there wouldn’t be possible spoilage. But I’ll always wait for you guys.
Always.
You can’t stop my love.
May 4th, 2010 at 2:13 am
th3_ic3_2@hotmail.com o_O
Called me ingrate which is fine.
all i wanted to say is not to drop DRRR! It’s such an amazing series , why drop it or watch it with crap subs?
All i’m asking is to take your time , not freaking drop it. At least you guys should say that you’ll find a solution or stalled. Not drop ._.
May 4th, 2010 at 2:21 am
Oh, goddamn.
This’ll end up as another folder of mixed subgroups.
You guys are killing me through my OCD here.
Well, ever since [gg] died it’s been getting worse.
May 4th, 2010 at 2:46 am
My….. god, what should I do now…..
*sniff*
I’ll go find some other subbers, but I’ll still wait for you…..
May 4th, 2010 at 3:11 am
Ha ha ha that’s hilarious ! You neary got me, to think you dropped it & recommend “CHRUNCHYROLL!” No self respecting sub group would ever give the ok to watch such a half-assed attempt at translation. Ha ha funny really… I guess .
May 4th, 2010 at 3:39 am
Awww. :(
Oh well, Im getting it from [AnCo^2] from this day onwards, they do at least as good job as [BSS]. (Without the whole dropping thing).
http://www.animecouncil.net/
And no thank you to CC subs…
May 4th, 2010 at 3:46 am
Thank you for translating what you have so far, your quality has been excellent. If you ever pick it up again I’ll download your releases in a heartbeat. Good luck finding a translator for future releases.
May 4th, 2010 at 3:49 am
You lost your editor? Have no fear, Luftwaffle is here.
I’m a 4th year university student majoring in Creative Writing and minoring in English. I’ve recently worked as an editor for my university’s annual literature magazine. I’ve got loads of free time, too. Send me a message if you’re interested.
May 4th, 2010 at 4:39 am
ARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH….. I not believe it….
May 4th, 2010 at 6:02 am
Acht, too bad. By the way, what happened to the site? Couldn’t access it sometime last week.
May 4th, 2010 at 6:04 am
Luftwaffle, I swear to God they had better hire you XD
May 4th, 2010 at 6:30 am
Oh no…
I don’t know which fansub I will watch DRRR from now on..
Hope you guys come back
May 4th, 2010 at 6:32 am
Too bad. Can’t complain since it’s free. Thanks for the hard work. Time to watch it from another subber I guess.
May 4th, 2010 at 7:07 am
People stop bitching! They aren’t your slaves to do every episode just as you will. All of you who’s abusing this site, go do the same thing as you complaining, to yourself!
BSS thanks for your great work till now!
Now, for Drr!! fans I recommend AnimeCouncil [AnCo^2] realises. They are near good as BBS and certainly better that Crunchyroll or HorribleSubs.
May 4th, 2010 at 7:22 am
It’s always quite unsettling to see one of the preferred groups drop a project, but I would still proclaim that there’s one major problem in all of the major groups; Namely being that all of them are closed off environments, meaning that it’s almost impossible for a person interested in fansubbing to learn about the actual process from experienced people.
As such, the fansub scene will probably, eventually, kill itself off, if the groups don’t start bringing in fresh blood and actually teach them the entire process.
Sure, there’s a staggering amount of irresponsible assholes out there, but there should also be and equal amount of people that are responsible and that have a genuine interest in the fansubbing process.
Bottom line is: Learn from your mistakes and make an attempt to prevent similar mishappenings from occuring in the near future.
May 4th, 2010 at 7:31 am
Hmmm, n3x is right.
May 4th, 2010 at 7:46 am
Thanks for your hard work all this time. Your subs for Durarara! is the best IMO. If you ever, somehow, pick Durarara! again, I’ll be gladly to to leec- I mean seed the torrent. ;9
May 4th, 2010 at 10:16 am
BSS Subs, look on the bright side when someone actually says you deserves the F.
If the fan-sub were to be a piece of shit , no one would even bother to say somethings. Drop for all they want , no one cares.
As for you guys , outstanding and simply best in DRRR! Therefore people gets pissed off and hence shouting at you guys.
If you bss really want to help , i really wish that you guys would release the Karaoke script for the other Fan-subs.
May 4th, 2010 at 10:18 am
BSS, fansubbing never used to be as fast as they are today. Good releases (back in 2004-2006)took at least 2-3 days. Talk-heavy shows took over a week. I remember Laughing Man Fansubs took MONTHS to release a single episode of GITS 2nd Gig – but every wait was worth it, and I still believe in the same thing to this day. Quality is always worth the wait.
May 4th, 2010 at 12:05 pm
/throwtable
fucking hell
May 4th, 2010 at 3:41 pm
Guys!!!
Please, read the comments!! There’s a lot of people offering their talent and free time to help you out with this anime (well, only two, James and Luftwaffle :P). Basing in your great job, I can translate DRRR!! into spanish (besides watching the goddamned series, thanks a lot for that too n_n); but, what I mean is that, shit guys, what you’ve been doing has had a major impact, because of the excellent quality of your work is easily recognizable, and therefore, it has been followed by A LOT (really mean, A LOT) of people everywhere. I think that drop it it’s not the right choice, considering that there are people capable for the required tasks (and in the worst of the situations, the lack of knowledge in any area can be solved with a tutorial or, dunno, just googling about it).
Well, this is just my humble opinion. Thanks a lot for what you’ve been doing, and, I really hope that this fansub can keep working on Durarara!
May 4th, 2010 at 3:48 pm
Aw man :c
Well thanks for all your hard work, I’ve enjoyed your subs so much c:
May 4th, 2010 at 4:45 pm
Nah, srsly… this isn’t funny :/
May 4th, 2010 at 4:53 pm
No translator = no subs, this isn’t difficult to understand guys.
May 4th, 2010 at 5:32 pm
I see some people going for Anime Council now. Does anyone have any thoughts on Commie? I havent seen their stuff, how do they compare with Anime Council?
May 4th, 2010 at 5:54 pm
@aers
You dumb? There is a translator but editor left.
@RAAAAAAAA!
no, u.
May 4th, 2010 at 6:30 pm
read the fucking post!!!
they BOTH fucking left!!!!
May 4th, 2010 at 7:46 pm
@Fireflysifu
I’d go with Anime Council over Commie.
May 4th, 2010 at 8:53 pm
Commie uses edited CR subs with gg/BSS styling and OP/ED translation. I’m going with them from now on, they are fast, the CR subs aren’t that bad either, and the styling is the same as in the BSS release too.
May 4th, 2010 at 8:54 pm
Guess I’ll stick with Commie now. They use the same fonts and stuff you guys did, and I’m stuck on those after all these episodes, so yeah.
Thanks for all the work you guys did! Loved ‘em. Sucks you’re dropping it, but oh well.
May 4th, 2010 at 8:56 pm
@RAAAAAAAA!
I think you are the dumb one. Read the post again. The new translator left at the last minute PLUS the editor too. So they don’t have a translator nor an editor either.
May 4th, 2010 at 9:19 pm
Eh, shit happens… I’m just happy there’s other groups doing it. Thanks for the subbing you guys did do, it was top notch and very prompt.
But… you’re still doing Gaiden right?
May 4th, 2010 at 9:42 pm
I had just switched from FROSTII to you guys, only to have you not sub it in the end. Oh well, thank you for all the hard work you put in, your subs from what I’ve seen compare to some of my favorite subbers, you’ll be missed. Maybe someday you guys will do something else I’m interested in, until then the only anime I’ll leave with is Tokyo Magnitude 8.0.
May 4th, 2010 at 9:42 pm
Thanks for the releases. Too bad you had to drop the show but that’s life. I was already archiving Frostii’s releases so if I from now on have to wait until they release before I actually watch the episodes… it’s not the end of the world. I’m definitely not going to settle for CR or HS though, not when the show in question is this good. Anyhow, thanks again for all your hard work. It’s much appreciated.
May 4th, 2010 at 10:50 pm
right when i decided to stick with you guys after frostii was being slow with releases. it dies. aww… :(
tho i found you guys out through this show, your sub quality is fantastic, so i will be getting many more shows from you guys.
on to the sub-par commie releases. :|
May 4th, 2010 at 11:26 pm
I felt that there was something off about Frostii’s subs, that’s why I stuck with gg’s and Ecliptic-BSS’s subs. Now that they aren’t subbing it anymore, I’ll have to get used to Frostii’s again.
May 4th, 2010 at 11:28 pm
It would be great if the anime clubs in schools would start a fansubbing section, provided that there are members who know how to and are willing to teach other students about fansubbing.
May 4th, 2010 at 11:48 pm
lol aers, how does it feel to be told you know nothing about the group you’re a part of?
You’ve even made news posts and some still think you’re some random!
May 5th, 2010 at 5:03 am
Good thing Frostii is better.
*flameeeeeee*
May 5th, 2010 at 6:31 am
i would like to point out that cr is not an option for people outside us/canada. unless you think youtube offers hq.
May 5th, 2010 at 7:18 am
So, does this mean that gg can sub this cause you guys had to drop?
May 5th, 2010 at 7:14 pm
I’ll just quietly make as if this post never happened and keep waiting for your Drrr!! for as long as it takes.
May 5th, 2010 at 11:42 pm
how is darker than black BD coming along :O?
May 6th, 2010 at 12:15 am
@confused.
Your very smart.
=..=
Frostii Won’t be subbing this either. Their Domain was screwed. don’t expect them to sub for a while.
Sorry for your loss guys.
I’ll be looking forward to your other releases in the future.
.//Nokutisu
May 6th, 2010 at 5:15 am
I know that it’s free but i’m still kinda pissed… It’s just that i think that if you’re going to do a fansub for a show to at least finish it no matter how long it takes, not to just drop the thing and leave all of us hanging… show professional courtesy and finish what you started… and that was just my opinion… so please don’t be a dick about this..
May 6th, 2010 at 1:05 pm
Romulus: Don’t be a dick and complain like you’re entitled to it.
May 6th, 2010 at 1:09 pm
aww you guys are quitting first gg now you,the best show this season will only have second rate quality subs by crunchy for us to watch what a waste thats too bad.
May 6th, 2010 at 2:41 pm
Don’t forget about Anime Council (AnCo^2) subs, which are nearly as good as BSS.
May 6th, 2010 at 6:02 pm
Cute.
I’m looking forward to the end of hockey playoffs so you guys will get back to fansubbing. Would definitely rather wait until June for ep 16 rather than watch crunchy subs.
May 7th, 2010 at 12:18 am
Agreed With Silencers.
Romulus, If your going to complain.
How bout trying to make your own fanSubGroup and then see what BSS is going through.
They are people. They have lives. Get over it.
Don’t just bullshitting yourself and start talking about Professional courtesy.
Know what your talking about kid.
May 7th, 2010 at 11:55 am
This is why we can’t have nice things.
May 7th, 2010 at 1:53 pm
I’m also up for editing. I edit for a new group Mango- we’re doing Arakawa.
I can edit the .ass but our leader prefers googledocs and making the final decision/changes herself. So I linked my edits for Arakawa eps 2-4
I have one more exam Monday, then I’ll be done with my third year of university and have three months of summer break. I’m majoring in computer science.
May 7th, 2010 at 2:26 pm
alright :(
well thanks for the short ride :(
that means that i’m gonna have to wait for Frostii’s releases :D
May 7th, 2010 at 2:49 pm

May 8th, 2010 at 11:18 am
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…the only guys that make a awesome work is dropping the project…no…today is a sad day for me…sniff
May 8th, 2010 at 4:13 pm
I hope a decent group picks it up and not ggshit.
May 8th, 2010 at 7:40 pm
Why does everything that has relation to gg always ends up this way.
May 9th, 2010 at 11:06 am
We would like to rip your encoding/translation/long-hours-of-hard-work of Durarara episodes and name it as ours. We’re translating it into Malay. Let us know if you want it to be labelled joint, or fully credited to BSS, or just plain ignore this. Thanks.
May 14th, 2010 at 4:39 pm
don’t sweat it guys another quality groups has already picked it up anime council just get it from them.
May 24th, 2010 at 11:05 pm
weak, can’t wait for more Gundam Unicorn though
August 31st, 2011 at 3:26 am
moncler coats clearance I’d for example like according to share your posts with the parents of my students.
