As some of you IRC lurkers may have noticed we lost our long standing IRC bot a few months back and IRC downloads have become rather sparse since then. The person paying for the server that hosted that bot has moved onto bigger and better things, and we are looking to acquire a new solution. Any server we manage to get would also be used for seeding torrents and if we get enough to get a unmetered server (they aren’t very expensive for low quality bandwidth) then maybe we could start the DDL up again. BSS has been subbing with mainly the same core people now for a few years, and we’re starting to see the limit. Practically all of our shows were done by one translator since gurren lagann ended with no translation checker and our editors were former quality checkers (and I think we’ve been doing pretty well considering everything). And with most of our releases ending up having a v2, we just really need more help. So here’s where you come in!

We’re looking for translators, translation checkers, editors, quality checkers, distro, basically everything but encoders and timers. What we’d also like are people from the other side of the world or maybe europeans since most of us are based in North America. This would allow us to be more flexible so that if some people are sleeping, then it’s more likely the others are awake and ready to help.

We’re a pretty loose bunch, so I’m sure that if anyone joins, they’ll be sure to have fun. We also play mahjong quite often together, so consider that a plus if you know how to play.
