Abby Sullivan Feb 25 2019

Hello again subscriptionites. It’s Abby here with the news you need to begin your week off right. Today is National Clam Chowder Day, and for us New Englanders here in Boston, that’s a pretty sacred celebration. But before we dive in to some creamy seafood, we have your serving of subscription ready to go.

Crazy Egg for Pricing Perfection Don't let pricing your software cause you stress (and adversely, don't just guess). The Crazy Egg team has your back with several examples of solid pages and why they work. Find the strategy that's best for you, draw attention to the good stuff, and let customers scale their subscription without breaking the bank.

Chargebee on Checkout Pages If you're seeing a lot of traffic but no boost in sales, check up on that checkout page. You've got customers in the door; they want to buy. Make it easy for them. Chargebee has the insights that'll help smooth out any kinks in your checkout process, making it slick, frictionless, and effective.

"For self-serve SaaS, the checkout experience is where the rubber meets the road."

The Willy Wonka of Design Work environment encapsulates a lot of aspects: workplace culture, team dynamics, the physical space. Dr. Nelly Ben Hayoun deals with that last bit. Dubbed the "Willy Wonka of Design," she shares her philosophy on creating a work space that fosters creativity and growth, alongside other experts like Professor Julie Cogin of University of Queensland.

"The physical space is important, but what is more important is the culture and other elements of the work environment. You need people to be able to challenge assumptions, disagree with each other and not just parrot a leader's views."

Zoba Raises $3 Million As the subscription mobility market picks up speed, and we see more rental scooters and bikes across the country, those businesses need to know where demand is fiercest. Zoba helps with that market research, and just raised a tidy sum of $3 million to help do just that.

American Eagle Goes Subscription As the subscription model continues to creep into industries all over the map, clothing store American Eagle pilots a subscription service deemed “Style Drop,” where users pay a flat monthly fee to borrow clothes they can switch out in avoiding closet overload.

"The idea resonates with younger consumers, who are more comfortable not owning clothing in favor of circulating garments in and out of their closets — a challenge to the micro-trends offered by fast fashion companies like H&M and Zara."

Product of the Day

In extra time, we’re digging even deeper into those closets with Clutter, a unique on-demand storage experience. And the Clutter team confirms a SoftBank led $200 million investment in the service used to summon a Clutter crew to come pack up, store, and later return household items. The app can also be used for regular house moving - so you’re covered across the board.
